Hi this was done for Athens Planetarium
Work was done in Autodesk 3ds max, for dome rendering I used Brazil R/S it actually has an physically correct 360 degree camera so no need to use 5cam rig and stitch images afterwords, also becose you don't actually need to render anything beside the cycle, me and a friend of mine and a really nice guy at splutterfish Richrd Annema worked out a script that simply kills all the buckets outside the render area so no waste in render power! I also show some color preset done by Nikos Makris when we were testing colors at Planetarium Dome
